Mended Hearts

Welcome to Mended Hearts, a Children 1st project. Launching fall 2022, Mended Hearts is a community outreach project supporting bereaved children, ages 7-13 years old, in Wichita, Kansas. Through collaborative efforts among Children 1st, New York Life, and local mental health professionals, the project serves children and their families suffering a loss due to death, divorce, incarceration, or other traumatic events which have upset a child’s family dynamics. Local events and 1-day children's camps have been created to bring together therapeutic activities to help children deal through the emotions of grief.
