

Children 1ST Ambassadors
The Children 1st Ambassador program is a career exploration program for low-resourced, mostly minority middle school students, rooted in two service-learning projects. Students either self-select or are referred by teachers to become an Ambassador.

The Ambassador program includes:

Two service-learning projects per year: fall food drive for Beef Up the Pantry and spring Ambassador’s choice (they pick, fundraise, and complete the project).

Often professionals, who identify as Hispanic or Asian, volunteer to speak about their career journey, with emphasis on STEAM careers.

One college campus tour in the spring

One parent night at each participating school is held annually to explain how college works and savings plans in Kansas that match money.

Connecting with the WSU programs for first generation college students to speak about their journey.
